Job Description Details

  • Design and develop traffic control systems, including signals, signage, and roadway layouts
  • Develop transportation plans and design transportation systems that improve safety and mobility
  • Conduct traffic studies and analyze data to assess current conditions and forecast future needs
  • Utilize AutoCAD and other design software to create detailed engineering plans
  • Assist in the development of system designs that improve traffic flow and safety
  • Engage in transportation planning initiatives to support sustainable development
  • Work with other engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Prepare technical reports, specifications, and design documentation
  • Oversee and lead projects, including project planning, design and implementation, and closeout
  • Conduct site visits and field investigations as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • 5+ years of experience in traffic engineering
  • Familiarity with transportation planning concepts and methodologies
  • Project management experience
  • Strong technical writing and presentation skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Experience with AutoCAD, SYNCHRO, VISSIM, or SIDRA
  • Ability to collaborate with other engineers, city planners, and the public to develop transportation solutions
  • Strong decision-making skills, flexibility, focus on quality, and attention to detail
