BAS Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• System Design & Modeling:

  • Design control systems for HVAC, lighting, energy management, and other building services.
  • Develop and maintain accurate Revit models for BAS components and layouts.
  • Create control schematics, points lists, and sequence of operations.

• Project Coordination:

  • Collaborate with MEP engineers, architects, and contractors to ensure integrated design solutions.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical input throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with commissioning teams to ensure design intent is met during implementation.

• Documentation & Standards:

  • Prepare technical documentation including control narratives and system specifications.
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and sustainability certifications (e.g., BREEAM, LEED).
  • Maintain version control and design documentation using Revit and other BIM tools.

• Innovation & Development:

  • Stay current with emerging technologies in building automation and smart building design.
  • Contribute to the development of design standards and best practices.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience in BAS design and integration.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit for building services design and coordination.
• Familiarity with communication protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, and LonWorks.
• Strong understanding of HVAC systems and control logic.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience with platforms such as Tridium Niagara, Siemens Desigo, or Schneider EcoStruxure.
• BIM coordination experience.
• LEED or BREEAM accreditation.
• AutoCAD and other design tools are a plus.
