Role Summary
The Environmental Regulatory Compliance Manager provides leadership, technical direction, and operational oversight for a regional compliance and permitting team. This role includes managing staff, overseeing environmental compliance projects, developing scopes and proposals, supporting program strategy, and serving as a trusted advisor to clients navigating complex regulatory frameworks. The position requires deep regulatory knowledge, strong technical proficiency, and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in a dynamic consulting environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage a team delivering environmental regulatory compliance and permitting services.
* Oversee project execution involving air, water, waste, and multimedia compliance requirements.
* Provide senior‑level technical review of work products, reports, and regulatory submittals.
* Manage client relationships and serve as a primary point of contact for regulatory and compliance programs.
* Support the development of scopes, proposals, schedules, and budgets.
* Mentor junior and mid‑level staff, supporting professional growth and workload planning.
* Oversee and participate in preparation of compliance plans, permit applications, regulatory evaluations, and environmental documentation.
* Collaborate with engineering, construction, and specialty teams to ensure integrated project delivery.
* Promote adherence to quality assurance standards, risk management practices, and safety expectations.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, chemical engineering, environmental science, or a related technical discipline.
* 10+ years of experience in environmental compliance, permitting, regulatory analysis, or related consulting services.
* Strong understanding of federal, state, and local regulatory programs, including multimedia compliance frameworks.
* Experience managing project teams and overseeing client relationships.
* Demonstrated ability to lead technical staff, manage project portfolios, and deliver high‑quality work.
Preferred Qualifications
* Prior consulting or client‑facing environmental services experience.
* Knowledge of multimedia compliance programs (air, water, waste, EPCRA, SPCC/SWPPP, etc.).
* Experience preparing or reviewing complex regulatory documentation.
* Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Compensation
Expected base compensation range: $120,000 - $215,000, depending on experience and responsibilities.
