About the Role
We are seeking a visionary Managing Principal to lead our Education practice in Seattle. This is a senior leadership position within our AEC firm, responsible for driving strategic growth, client relationships, and design excellence in K-12 and higher education projects. The ideal candidate will combine deep architectural expertise with strong business acumen and a passion for shaping learning environments that inspire students and communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the vision for the Education market sector in alignment with firm goals.
- Client Development: Build and maintain strong relationships with school districts, higher education institutions, and key stakeholders.
- Project Oversight: Provide leadership and guidance on major education projects, ensuring design quality, budget adherence, and client satisfaction.
- Team Management: Mentor and develop a high-performing team of architects and designers.
- Business Growth: Identify new opportunities, lead proposals, and secure projects to expand the firm's presence in the education sector.
- Community Engagement: Represent the firm in industry events, conferences, and professional organizations.
Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience in architecture, with a strong portfolio of K-12 and/or higher education projects.
- Active Architecture License in Washington State (or ability to obtain).
- Proven track record of client relationship management, particularly with school districts and educational institutions.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage complex projects and lead multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of educational facility standards, codes, and best practices.
