Job Title: Mechanical Designer/Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Designer or Mechanical Engineer to join our client's growing team. This role is ideal for professionals with 4-7 years of experience in mechanical design within mission critical environments, including data centers, healthcare facilities, and industrial plants.

You will be responsible for designing and coordinating mechanical systems (HVAC, piping, and plumbing) for complex building projects, ensuring performance, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop mechanical systems for mission critical facilities, including HVAC, chilled water, steam, and plumbing systems.
  • Prepare construction documents, specifications, and equipment schedules.
  • Perform load calculations, energy modeling, and system sizing using industry-standard software.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams including electrical, structural, and architectural professionals.
  • Conduct site visits and field surveys to verify existing conditions and support construction administration.
  • Ensure designs meet applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
  • Participate in QA/QC reviews and value engineering exercises.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 4-7 years of relevant experience in mechanical design for mission critical projects (data centers, hospitals, industrial facilities).
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and mechanical design software (e.g., Trane Trace, Carrier HAP).
  • Strong understanding of ASHRAE standards, NFPA, and local building codes.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • EIT (Engineer-in-Training) certification or PE (Professional Engineer) license.
