A pioneering startup is tackling the global freshwater scarcity issue by developing innovative desalination technology. Their unique electrochemical method effectively removes salts and pathogens from water, providing sustainable access to clean water and supporting off-grid mobile water supply and industrial water reuse.

Job Description:
The company is moving from prototype development to scalable manufacturing and productization. The Mechanical Engineer will play a key role in advancing the design, testing, and deployment of water treatment systems based on cutting-edge technology.

Responsibilities:
- Fabricate the Pilot System Skid: Focus on mechanical components, piping, and pumping.
- Pilot System Operation and Data Collection: Efficiently run the system and gather performance data.
- Field Testing Support: Assist with deployment and testing of the pilot system.
- Development and Optimization: Work on water treatment systems.
- Support Senior Engineers: Assist in product development and system integration.
- Planning and Execution: Participate in development plans for various water treatment applications.
- Conceptualization and Enhancement: Improve compact-scale systems.
- On-site Evaluations: Conduct system evaluations, data collection, and troubleshooting.
- Process Control Strategies: Develop and implement strategies to maintain system stability and quality.
- Technical Challenges: Collaborate to resolve challenges and refine system designs.
- Training Materials: Create and deliver materials for production personnel.
- Startup Environment: Apply critical thinking to solve complex technical challenges.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
Experience: Hands-on experience with piping, tubing, and engineering laboratory tools.
Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Preferred Skills:
Water Treatment Technologies: Experience with filtration, reverse osmosis, electrodialysis.
Fabrication Experience: Laser cutting, machine shop work.
Electrochemical Desalination: Familiarity with methods like electrodialysis or capacitive deionization.
CAD Tools: Proficiency in Onshape, AutoCAD, Solidworks.
