Position: Principal

The firm is looking for a talented Principal to join their team. This role involves leading interview presentations, building and nurturing client relationships, and supporting clients during public meetings. As a leader, you will motivate and inspire project teams, ensuring high morale and recognition. This position offers growth opportunities within the firm and exposure to an innovative, fast-paced, and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent the firm and maintain strong client relationships
  • Act as the primary liaison between the team and clients/owners
  • Lead project teams and consultants
  • Ensure project success by overseeing scope, schedule, and budget
  • Provide solutions for project and team challenges
  • Define program requirements and establish project parameters based on client needs
  • Offer long-term planning for clients and their future projects
  • Develop overall project/design concepts and formulate presentation strategies
  • Collaborate with consultants throughout design phases
  • Maintain project budgets and communicate updates with owners
  • Manage client interactions and decision-making related to projects
  • Mentor, train, and guide project teams

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Architect (preferably in Texas)
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience
  • Knowledge of local, state, and national building codes, regulations, and approval processes
  • Understanding of public education in Texas
  • Experience in all phases of project management and design, including long-term planning and budget management
  • Familiarity with building materials, construction methods, costs, and applicable codes
  • Awareness of current industry trends and future growth areas
  • Public speaking experience
  • Ability to manage client expectations, team communication, and consultant coordination
  • Evaluate design alternatives based on site and code requirements
  • Experience in marketing, client interviews, and relationship building
  • Proven ability to create and maintain a client network and leverage it into design opportunities
  • Proficiency in bond program development and cost analysis
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership qualities
  • Willingness to travel as needed
