The Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Structural Forensic Engineer to join our New Jersey office. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with a strong background in structural engineering and a passion for forensic investigation. You'll lead evaluations of structural failures, construction defects, and damage assessments, and provide expert analysis for legal and insurance clients.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct forensic investigations of structural failures, construction defects, and damage due to natural disasters, fire, or impact
- Perform site inspections, document findings, and prepare detailed technical reports
- Analyze structural systems and materials using engineering principles and software tools
- Provide expert opinions and testimony in legal proceedings
- Collaborate with attorneys, insurers, and other stakeholders
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical development within the firm
Qualifications
- PE license required
- Minimum 10 years of experience in structural engineering, with at least 5 years in forensic investigations
- Strong knowledge of building codes, construction practices, and structural analysis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with litigation support and expert witness testimony is a plus
- Willingness to travel for site inspections and client meetings
