Position Overview

They are seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their growing team. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader and technical expert with a passion for subsurface problem-solving. You'll work closely with multidisciplinary teams to lead and support geotechnical investigations, design, and construction-phase services across a wide range of infrastructure and development projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead geotechnical site investigations and prepare technical reports and recommendations

  • Design foundations, retaining walls, ground improvement systems, embankments, and other soil-structure systems

  • Oversee and mentor junior engineers and project staff

  • Collaborate with civil, structural, and environmental teams to develop integrated project solutions

  • Manage scope, budget, and schedule for geotechnical tasks on multi-disciplinary projects

  • Serve as a technical resource for proposal development and client meetings

  • Conduct field reconnaissance, inspection, and construction-phase support as needed

Qualifications

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering (M.S. or Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering preferred)

  • P.E. license required, GE Preferred (or ability to obtain in short term)

  • 8+ years of geotechnical engineering experience, preferably in consulting

  • Strong technical knowledge in soil mechanics, foundation engineering, and slope stability

  • Familiarity with geotechnical software (e.g., GeoStudio, LPILE, PLAXIS, gINT)

  • Proven project management and team leadership skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Experience

  • Transportation or infrastructure sector projects (DOT, transit, airports)

  • Design-build project experience

  • Ground improvement or soft ground tunneling support

  • Seismic and liquefaction analysis
