Position Overview
They are seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their growing team. The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader and technical expert with a passion for subsurface problem-solving. You'll work closely with multidisciplinary teams to lead and support geotechnical investigations, design, and construction-phase services across a wide range of infrastructure and development projects.
Key Responsibilities
Lead geotechnical site investigations and prepare technical reports and recommendations
Design foundations, retaining walls, ground improvement systems, embankments, and other soil-structure systems
Oversee and mentor junior engineers and project staff
Collaborate with civil, structural, and environmental teams to develop integrated project solutions
Manage scope, budget, and schedule for geotechnical tasks on multi-disciplinary projects
Serve as a technical resource for proposal development and client meetings
Conduct field reconnaissance, inspection, and construction-phase support as needed
Qualifications
B.S. in Civil Engineering (M.S. or Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering preferred)
P.E. license required, GE Preferred (or ability to obtain in short term)
8+ years of geotechnical engineering experience, preferably in consulting
Strong technical knowledge in soil mechanics, foundation engineering, and slope stability
Familiarity with geotechnical software (e.g., GeoStudio, LPILE, PLAXIS, gINT)
Proven project management and team leadership skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Experience
Transportation or infrastructure sector projects (DOT, transit, airports)
Design-build project experience
Ground improvement or soft ground tunneling support
Seismic and liquefaction analysis
