Senior Civil Project Manager - Land Development
Our client is a multidisciplinary consulting firm delivering civil engineering, architecture, and design services to a diverse portfolio of commercial and private-sector clients nationwide. They are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Project Manager to lead site development projects, manage client relationships, and support the continued growth of a high-performing civil engineering team.
This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of commercial, retail, hospitality, mixed-use, and development projects while collaborating closely with internal design disciplines and project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple land development and site/civil projects from concept through construction
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout project delivery
- Oversee project schedules, budgets, profitability, and resource allocation
- Prepare and negotiate proposals, scopes of work, and consultant agreements
- Lead the design and coordination of site layouts, grading plans, utility systems, stormwater management facilities, and permitting efforts
- Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, MEP teams, and external consultants
- Review engineering plans and calculations to ensure quality and compliance with project requirements
- Mentor and develop Project Engineers and Designers
- Monitor project performance and implement quality control measures
- Support business development efforts and identify opportunities to expand existing client relationships
- Assist with risk assessment, project planning, and constructability reviews
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- 10+ years of civil engineering experience, including project management responsibilities
- Experience managing commercial, retail, hospitality, mixed-use, industrial, or other private development projects
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Strong understanding of site design, grading, drainage, utilities, stormwater management, and permitting processes
- Experience managing project budgets, schedules, and client expectations
- Excellent communication, leadership, and team management skills
