Position Overview

This is more than just a job-it's a launchpad for leadership. The firm is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer - Leadership Track to join its growing team. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who is ready to take on greater responsibility and grow into a future leadership position. The successful candidate will contribute to structural design, project oversight, and client engagement, while participating in a structured development program designed to cultivate the next generation of firm leaders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leads structural engineering services including investigation, analysis, design, and construction phase support.
  • Performs structural analysis and design for both new and existing buildings using 2D/3D modeling tools.
  • Conducts field investigations and prepares detailed engineering reports and long-term repair projections.
  • Provides technical guidance to CAD/REVIT technicians and ensures high-quality design documentation.
  • Coordinates with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Prepares project proposals, scopes of work, and engineering budgets.
  • Participates in business development and community engagement aligned with the firm's values.
  • Engages in a structured mentorship program to develop leadership and client relationship skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Minnesota or eligible for reciprocity.
  • 6-12 years of structural engineering experience with proficiency in steel, concrete, masonry, or wood systems.
  • Strong technical writing, communication, and detailing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and perform on-site fieldwork.

Preferred Requirements

  • Experience in building envelope/waterproofing assessments and repairs.
  • Familiarity with structural modeling software and construction documentation.
  • Demonstrated leadership or mentorship experience.
