Position: Survey Technician
Location: Dallas, TX
A growing professional services firm is seeking a Survey Technician to join its team. This role supports Registered Professional Surveyors in a variety of tasks including CAD production, deed research, boundary analysis, easement preparation, legal descriptions, and survey point computations.
Key Responsibilities
Assist Registered Professional Surveyors with:
CAD production
Deed research
Boundary and easement analysis
Legal description drafting
Survey point calculations
- Process raw field data using Trimble Business Center and AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Perform quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) checks
- Collaborate with field crews and office staff to ensure project accuracy and efficiency
- Uphold company values, policies, and procedures within the survey team
- Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and sound judgment in all work
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong verbal, written, and listening communication skills
- Proficiency in:
- ALTA surveys
- Boundary and topographic surveys
- Easement and legal document preparation
- Final plat creation
- Construction staking
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and coordinate with cross-functional teams
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree in Surveying, Engineering Technology, or a related field
- SIT (Surveyor-in-Training) Certification
- Experience with:
- Land development (commercial, residential) and public infrastructure projects
- Public Land Survey System monument recovery
- LiDAR point cloud and imagery processing
- TBC Scanning Module and MicroStation
- Survey field equipment
- FAA Part 107 UAS License
- Willingness to travel and remain on project sites or at other office locations as needed
