Transportation Lead
The Transportation Engineer Lead will oversee the planning, design, and implementation of transportation infrastructure projects. This role involves managing engineering teams, coordinating with public agencies and contractors, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local transportation standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of roadway, transit, and traffic engineering projects.
- Supervise and mentor junior engineers and technical staff.
- Coordinate with city, state (e.g., ADOT), and federal agencies on project approvals and funding.
- Conduct traffic studies, safety analyses, and environmental impact assessments.
- Prepare and review engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Ensure compliance with FHWA, AASHTO, and local design standards.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
- Support public engagement and stakeholder coordination efforts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Master's preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Arizona or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- 8+ years of experience in transportation engineering, including leadership roles.
- Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, Synchro, or HCS.
- Strong understanding of transportation planning, roadway design, and traffic operations.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with ADOT or City of Phoenix transportation projects.
- Familiarity with NEPA documentation and environmental permitting.
- PMP certification or experience in project management.
