Position Overview
The CAD Drafter/Technician will play a key role in supporting the design and documentation of building envelope systems. This position is ideal for individuals with a background in architectural design or drafting who are passionate about precision, detail, and contributing to impactful projects. The role involves working closely with project managers, field technicians, and engineers to produce high-quality technical drawings and documentation.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Create and revise CAD drawings for roofing, waterproofing, and exterior wall systems based on field data and project specifications.
- Interpret field notes, photographs, and sketches to develop accurate technical drawings.
- Maintain drawing standards and ensure consistency across all project documentation.
- Collaborate with project teams to support design development and construction documentation.
- Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and other project deliverables.
- Organize and archive CAD files and project documentation in accordance with company protocols.
- Support quality control processes by reviewing and editing drawings for accuracy and completeness.
Role Requirements
- Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, Architecture, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in CAD drafting, preferably in architecture, engineering, or construction.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (required); experience with Revit or other design software is a plus.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, building systems, and detailing.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering plans.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Experience in building envelope systems is a plus, but not required.
