About the Role
LVI Associates are working with a leading specialist construction services firm that is seeking an experienced professional to support complex construction-related matters involving disputed repairs and damage assessments. This role plays a key part in developing well-supported cost evaluations used in formal dispute resolution settings.
The position sits at the intersection of construction, documentation, and analysis, requiring a strong understanding of existing conditions, repair methodologies, and industry pricing standards. The successful candidate will contribute to evaluations that must hold up under detailed technical and third-party review.
Role Overview
This position focuses on evaluating and assessing repair scopes related to contentious construction matters. You will collaborate with internal technical teams, operational stakeholders, and external professionals to prepare detailed, defensible cost analyses supported by clear documentation and methodology.
The role requires a structured, methodical approach and the ability to clearly explain assumptions, cost drivers, and technical considerations to non-technical audiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Review disputed or contested construction damage matters
- Prepare detailed repair cost assessments based on findings and supporting documentation
- Evaluate third-party estimates, invoices, reports, and proposed scopes for accuracy and completeness
- Identify pricing variances, scope gaps, and potential compliance or code-related issues
- Produce written summaries and cost evaluations to support case strategy
- Coordinate with legal, claims, and technical professionals throughout the evaluation process
- Respond to formal information requests related to repair methodologies and pricing assumptions
- Support formal proceedings by explaining repair logic, scope rationale, and cost drivers
- Ensure all evaluations align with applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards
- Maintain organized files and documentation suitable for formal review or proceedings
Skills & Experience
- 5+ years' experience supporting disputed construction, insurance-related, or technical evaluation matters
- Strong numerical aptitude, including applied math and measurement concepts
- Broad knowledge of construction practices, materials, safety standards, and building regulations
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to interpret plans, specifications, and technical documentation
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational discipline
- Proactive, professional mindset with the ability to work across multiple stakeholders
