Nuclear Construction Project Manager
Overview
A growing advanced energy developer is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to support the delivery of complex, first-of-a-kind industrial facilities at a federal site. This role will work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to oversee design, construction execution, and project delivery.
The position will start remote but will transition to regular site presence during design and full-time on-site support during construction, with a longer-term office planned in the Idaho Falls area.
Key Responsibilities
EPC & Construction Oversight
- Support oversight of design-build packages, including site layouts, early works, and issued-for-construction documents
- Collaborate with internal leadership and EPC partners to drive project execution
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, non-conformances, and field documentation
- Participate in and lead construction progress meetings
Project Controls & Integration
- Track milestones, schedules, and project performance using tools such as Primavera P6
- Maintain logs for RFIs, submittals, changes, and key project metrics
- Coordinate sequencing across engineering, construction, and commissioning teams
Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to site requirements
- Support quality assurance and configuration control processes
- Assist with regulatory documentation and compliance efforts
Reporting & Stakeholder Coordination
- Provide project updates, risk tracking, and recovery plans
- Support design reviews and constructability planning
- Maintain project documentation throughout design and construction
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- ~5+ years of experience managing design and construction on large industrial or government projects
- Experience with scheduling and cost control tools (Primavera P6 preferred)
- Strong ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
Preferred:
- Experience supporting nuclear, DOE, or regulated infrastructure projects
- Familiarity with quality programs (e.g., NQA-1) and safety standards
- PMP certification and/or OSHA training
- Background coordinating EPC contractors and multi-stakeholder environments
Additional Details
- Must be willing to relocate to the Idaho Falls region and support ongoing site work (~55 miles from town)
- U.S. Citizenship required; must be eligible for security clearance
- Compensation: ~$135K-$150K base + bonus + equity participation
