Senior Environmental Engineer

Location: Orlando, FL

Role Summary

This role supports infrastructure and environmental projects by providing technical oversight, regulatory interpretation, and quality review of project deliverables. The position works across multiple project phases, collaborates with internal teams and clients, and contributes to proposal development and ongoing client engagements. Limited fieldwork and travel may be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and support multiple projects while ensuring technical accuracy, regulatory compliance, and quality standards.
  • Review technical data, analyses, calculations, reports, plans, schedules, and cost estimates.
  • Interpret and apply relevant permitting and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform independent technical tasks, including design support, calculations, and documentation.
  • Provide quality control oversight for technical and administrative work products.
  • Serve as a primary or supporting point of contact, maintaining professional client relationships.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives and support ongoing client engagements.
  • Assist with business development efforts, including proposal development, scopes, schedules, and budget inputs.
  • Work at landfills, contaminated sites, and other sites where heavy equipment, contamination, or other health hazards may exist.
  • Manage competing project and organizational priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Travel about 10%.

Required Background and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Professional licensure or the ability to obtain licensure within a defined timeframe.
  • Approximately 6-10 years of relevant experience in civil, environmental, or infrastructure‑related project work.
  • Experience working with regulatory or permitting frameworks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in team‑based environments.
  • Proficiency with standard document preparation and spreadsheet software.
  • Working knowledge of computer‑aided design tools.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience supporting solid waste permitting or compliance.
  • Regional experience within the southern United States and Florida.
  • Established professional relationships supporting client engagement.
  • Exposure to project management responsibilities, including budgeting and invoicing.
