About the Role
We are seeking a technically proficient and commercially astute Technical Advisor to support the promotion and deployment of advanced underground power cable systems. This role is a key technical interface between the engineering and sales teams, working closely with customers to provide expert guidance on high-voltage (HV) cable design, system integration, and substation interface.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the growth of a global cable solutions provider, known for its innovation and reliability in power transmission infrastructure. The position offers opportunities for regional travel across Australia and international engagements in Europe and the Middle East.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert technical support on HV underground cable systems, including cable design, installation, and system integration.
- Collaborate with the sales team to deliver technical presentations, respond to customer inquiries, and support tender submissions.
- Engage with clients, consultants, and contractors to understand project requirements and propose optimal cable solutions.
- Review and interpret technical specifications, drawings, and standards related to cable systems and substations.
- Support product promotion efforts by participating in industry events, technical workshops, and customer meetings.
- Liaise with internal engineering and R&D teams to ensure alignment between customer needs and product capabilities.
- Contribute to the development of technical documentation, case studies, and marketing materials.
- Stay updated on industry trends, standards, and emerging technologies in HV cable systems.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 5-8 years of experience in HV cable design, underground cable systems, or substation engineering.
- Strong understanding of cable system components, installation practices, and performance standards.
- Experience working with or for cable manufacturers, utilities, EPCs, or engineering consultancies is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Commercial acumen and experience supporting sales or business development teams.
- Willingness to travel regionally and internationally as required.
