Building Automation Graphics Engineer - Data Centers (Remote, 10% Travel)

Compensation: Up to $110,000 annually
Location: Remote (U.S.)
Travel: ~10%

About the Role

We're seeking a skilled Building Automation Graphics Engineer to support our growing portfolio of mission-critical data center projects. In this role, you'll design, develop, and implement high‑quality building automation system (BAS) graphics that help operators monitor and control complex mechanical and electrical systems. You'll work closely with project engineers, commissioning teams, and facility stakeholders to bring modern, intuitive visualizations to life.

This position is fully remote with approximately 10% travel for project kickoff, validation, or commissioning support.

What You'll Do

  • Develop, program, and optimize BAS graphics for data center environments (AHUs, CRAC/CRAHs, chillers, power monitoring, etc.)
  • Collaborate with controls engineers to ensure graphical interfaces accurately reflect system sequences and real-world operation
  • Standardize graphics libraries and templates across multiple platforms
  • Support system integration, testing, and troubleshooting
  • Interpret mechanical/electrical drawings, network architecture, and points lists
  • Ensure graphics align with customer standards and data center operational requirements
  • Provide occasional onsite support (up to 10% travel)

What You Bring

  • Hands-on experience creating or editing BAS graphics (e.g., Niagara, Metasys, Tridium, Alerton, Siemens, Honeywell, etc.)
  • Understanding of HVAC, mechanical, and electrical systems-especially in critical‑facility or data center environments
  • Strong visual/UI design skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting while collaborating with cross‑functional teams
  • Experience with standard tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, or other graphics applications is a plus
  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks) preferred
