Building Inspector
A well-established municipal services and consulting firm with decades of experience supporting government agencies across the country is seeking a full-time ICC Certified Building Inspector in the South Bay area of Los Angeles. This is an opportunity to join a team that is actively shaping the future of building and safety across cities and communities.
As a Building Inspector you will be responsible for inspecting commercial, residential, and industrial properties before, during, and after construction to ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections at all phases of construction to ensure compliance with safety, structural, and building code regulations
- Issue violation notices, stop-work orders, and permits as appropriate
- Document and communicate inspection findings clearly to homeowners and contractors
- Interpret and apply standards across building, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and elevator systems
- Conduct building damage assessment inspections
- Mentor and train current and incoming inspectors and provide ongoing field supervision
- Serve as a resource for inspectors in the field and handle code-related inquiries from walk-ins and contractors
- Stay current with new developments in the inspection field and incorporate updates into practice
Qualifications
- ICC certification required -- commercial and/or residential
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of inspection experience
- Municipal experience required
