Building Science Consultant
A leading building consulting firm is seeking a Building Science Consultant to join its Los Angeles team. This role involves conducting building envelope assessments, performing field investigations, and providing technical consulting on both new construction and existing building projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct site assessments related to air, moisture, and thermal performance
Prepare technical reports with analysis and recommendations
Support design and review of building envelope systems
Coordinate with architects, contractors, and property owners
Perform diagnostic testing (e.g., infrared, blower door, water intrusion)
Qualifications:
Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Building Science, or related field
3+ years of relevant experience in envelope consulting or forensic investigation
Strong knowledge of building materials, codes (Title 24), and energy standards
Excellent technical writing and communication skills
EIT, PE, RA, or BECx credentials are preferred but not required
