Chicago | Senior Bridge Engineer
My client is seeking an experienced Structural Bridge Engineer to join its growing Chicago team. This is a leadership opportunity for a licensed Illinois SE who enjoys managing projects, mentoring engineers, and delivering complex transportation and infrastructure projects for public-sector clients.
Responsibilities
- Lead structural design and analysis for transportation and infrastructure projects.
- Manage project teams, schedules, budgets, and deliverables to ensure successful project execution and profitability.
- Serve as a technical lead for bridge, structural, and foundation design projects.
- Conduct complex structural calculations involving foundations, load analysis, structural response, and connection design.
- Oversee projects from planning and design through construction and closeout.
- Coordinate with DOTs, municipalities, contractors, inspectors, and other project stakeholders.
- Perform quality reviews of plans, specifications, calculations, and technical reports.
- Support construction by resolving design issues, performing site visits, and providing technical guidance.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to staff development.
- Assist with business development, client relationship management, and strategic growth initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master's preferred).
- Illinois Structural Engineer (SE) license required.
- 15+ years of structural engineering experience.
- Proven experience managing projects, budgets, schedules, and engineering teams.
- Strong background in structural analysis, bridge design, and transportation infrastructure projects.
- Experience working with public agencies, including DOT and municipal clients.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and client management skills.
