About the Opportunity
We are seeking a Civil Site Development Engineer to join a growing engineering team supporting a diverse portfolio of land development projects throughout the Southeast. This is a fully remote position offering the opportunity to work on residential, commercial, mixed-use, industrial, and municipal projects while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and clients across multiple markets.
The ideal candidate will have experience in site design, grading, drainage, utility design, and permitting and will be comfortable managing project responsibilities from concept through construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare engineering designs and construction documents for land development projects.
- Develop site layouts, grading plans, stormwater management systems, utility plans, erosion control plans, and roadway improvements.
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses using industry-standard software.
- Coordinate with clients, regulatory agencies, architects, planners, surveyors, and other project stakeholders.
- Assist with project permitting and entitlement processes.
- Prepare technical reports, calculations, and cost estimates.
- Support project managers in maintaining project schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
- Review plans and specifications for quality assurance and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Provide technical support during construction and respond to contractor RFIs and submittals.
- Collaborate effectively within a remote work environment while maintaining strong communication with project teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
- 3+ years of experience in civil engineering and site development.
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred; PE license or ability to obtain licensure is a plus.
- Experience designing land development projects in Georgia or the Southeast region.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Experience with hydrology and hydraulic modeling software such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, Hydraflow, PondPack, or similar programs.
- Strong understanding of stormwater regulations, utility design, grading, and erosion control requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a remote work setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Experience with commercial, residential, industrial, or mixed-use developments.
- Knowledge of Georgia permitting requirements and local jurisdictional standards.
- Experience coordinating directly with clients and regulatory agencies.
