Location: Traveling (IA, NE, SD)
Compensation: $130,000 - $150,000 DOE + Bonus

A growing heavy civil contractor is seeking a Traveling Superintendent to support long-term water and wastewater treatment plant projects across the Midwest. This role will focus on on-site leadership for projects typically lasting 18-36 months, offering stability and the opportunity to work on meaningful infrastructure builds.
Position Overview
This role is ideal for a Superintendent who enjoys being in the field and is open to travel. You'll oversee daily site operations on WTP/WWTP projects, working closely with project teams to drive productivity, safety, and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead on-site construction activities for treatment plants and related facilities
- Manage crews, subcontractors, and daily field operations
- Coordinate scheduling, sequencing, and manpower planning
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and project specifications
- Work closely with PMs, engineers, and owners
- Oversee installation of concrete structures, process/mechanical systems, and underground utilities
- Track progress, resolve field issues, and maintain production
Required Experience
- Experience as a Superintendent or Lead Foreman in heavy civil or water/wastewater construction
- Background in some combination of:
- WTP / WWTP construction
- Heavy concrete
- Process / mechanical systems
- Millwright work
- Underground utilities
- Willingness to travel and be on-site for long-duration projects (18-36 months)
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Stable work history preferred
