Controls Systems Integrator
Job Summary
The Control Systems Integrator is responsible for the design, programming, integration, commissioning, and long-term support of Building Automation Systems (BAS) across commercial, industrial, healthcare, data center, and mission‑critical facilities. This role serves as the technical bridge between design intent, field installation, and operational performance-ensuring HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and third‑party systems operate reliably, efficiently, and in alignment with client requirements.
The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with DDC-based BAS platforms, open protocols, system architecture, and on-site commissioning, and is comfortable working directly with clients, contractors, and internal engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
System Design & Integration
- Design and implement BAS architectures including controllers, networks, servers, and field devices
- Integrate HVAC, plant systems, EPMS, lighting, and third‑party systems using BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, and TCP/IP-based protocols
- Develop and review sequences of operation, control logic, and system workflows
- Support panel layouts, controller selection, I/O mapping, and bill of materials (BOMs)
Programming & Configuration
- Program DDC and PLC-based control systems
- Configure supervisory controllers, JACEs, servers, and databases
- Develop and modify control logic, alarms, trends, and schedules
- Create intuitive BAS graphics and HMIs for operators and facility teams
Commissioning & Start-Up
- Perform point-to-point checks, functional testing, and system commissioning
- Troubleshoot field devices, network communications, and software issues
- Validate system performance against specifications and client standards
- Support site acceptance testing (SAT), integrated systems testing (IST), and turnover
Client & Project Support
- Act as a technical resource for clients, project managers, and field technicians
- Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and IT teams to ensure successful integration
- Provide on-site and remote support during construction and post-occupancy phases
- Deliver system training to owners, operators, and maintenance teams
Documentation & Standards
- Produce and maintain as-built drawings, sequences, commissioning reports, and O&M documentation
- Ensure systems comply with cybersecurity, IT/OT, and client-specific standards
- Support upgrades, expansions, and retrofits of existing BAS installations
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in Building Automation / HVAC Controls / Systems Integration
- Strong experience with one or moreBAS platforms such as:
- Tridium Niagara (N4)
- Schneider Electric (EBO)
- Siemens (Desigo / Apogee)
- Johnson Controls (Metasys)
- Honeywell, Delta, Distech, Automated Logic, or similar
- Solid understanding of DDC controls, HVAC systems, and mechanical equipment
- Hands-on experience with BAS commissioning and field troubleshooting
- Working knowledge of open protocols (BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks)
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and controls drawings
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Data center, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or mission‑critical experience
- PLC programming and industrial automation exposure
- EPMS or DCIM system integration experience
- Familiarity with IT networking concepts (VLANs, IP addressing, firewalls)
- Niagara, OEM, or vendor-specific certifications
- AutoCAD or similar controls design tools
