Electrical Project Manager - Travelling Role (Midwest Region)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to oversee complex electrical installations for data center construction projects across the Midwest. This is a travelling role, requiring flexibility and a commitment to working on out-of-area jobsites. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, technical expertise, and project management skills to deliver high-performance results in mission-critical environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage electrical scopes of work for data center construction projects, ensuring successful execution from planning through completion.
  • Travel extensively to project sites across the Midwest, overseeing field operations and ensuring compliance with company standards.
  • Supervise field staff, subcontractors, and vendors to maintain quality, safety, and schedule adherence.
  • Interpret and enforce contract documents, budgets, safety regulations, and legal requirements.
  • Coordinate project scheduling, logistics, and construction activities.
  • Monitor project financials, including budgeting, cost control, and profitability.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, inspectors, local officials, and internal teams.
  • Guide and support team members in alignment with P1's leadership principles.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget, while meeting all quality and safety standards.

Qualifications and Skills

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Electrical Construction Project Manager on data center or similarly complex projects.
  • Preferred but not required:
    • Bachelor's degree in construction management, electrical engineering, or a related field.
    • At least 5 years of experience/training/education in electrical construction or service trades.
  • Experience with Mission Critical or Advanced Technologies projects is highly desirable.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
