Location: Charlotte or Raleigh
My client and I are seeking a senior environmental leader to grow and expand their North Carolina environmental operations. This role is primarily focused on business development, client relationships, and practice growth, supported by an established regional environmental technical team.
Responsibilities
- Lead and grow the environmental consulting practice in North Carolina
- Build and expand a client base through an established professional network
- Drive business development efforts and bring new work into the firm
- Manage and maintain relationships with existing clients
- Lead proposal strategy and preparation
- Provide senior‑level technical and report review as needed
- Develop and mentor staff as the group grows
- Represent the firm through industry involvement and professional organizations
- Collaborate closely with our regional environmental and industrial hygiene teams for technical and field support
Qualifications
- 10-15+ years of environmental consulting experience (10 years considered for exceptional candidates)
- Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or a related field
- Proven track record of leading an office, department, or practice group
- Demonstrated success growing revenue and managing a profitable environmental practice
- Strong business development background with an established industry network
- Experience building work through relationships, reputation, and client trust
- Strong communication, leadership, and client‑facing skills
- PE or PG required and CHMM strongly preferred
