Environmental Program Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee complex environmental projects from scoping through delivery, ensuring quality, accuracy, and regulatory compliance
- Provide expert guidance on environmental investigations, including soil, groundwater, asbestos and vapor-related work
- Review and approve technical reports, assessments, and regulatory documentation
- Serve as a senior technical resource for environmental compliance and due diligence activities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of environmental professionals at various career stages
- Support hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, and professional development planning
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture focused on quality and growth
- Allocate staff resources effectively across projects and priorities
- Partner with leadership to support financial planning, workload forecasting, and practice performance
- Contribute to proposal development, client strategy, and expansion of service offerings
- Build and maintain strong client relationships while identifying opportunities for repeat and new work
- Represent the organization in professional, regulatory, and industry settings
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or a related discipline
- Advanced degree preferred but not required
- Professional licensure (e.g., P.E. or P.G.) required
- Extensive experience (typically 15+ years) in environmental consulting and project management
- Demonstrated experience leading teams and managing complex environmental programs
- Strong working knowledge of environmental regulations and industry standards
- Excellent written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with leadership and clients
