A multidisciplinary environmental and engineering consulting firm is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join its growing geotechnical practice. This is a leadership-track opportunity for a technically skilled and business-savvy professional to contribute to complex projects and help shape the future of the firm's geotechnical services.
Position Summary:
The Senior Geotechnical Engineer will lead investigations, design, and construction support for a wide range of projects including environmental remediation, infrastructure development, and commercial/industrial facilities. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, experienced project manager, and mentor who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead geotechnical investigations, analyses, and design for public and private sector projects.
- Prepare and review technical reports, specifications, and construction documents.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and client relationships.
- Collaborate with environmental scientists, civil engineers, and regulatory specialists.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to internal training and development.
- Support business development and proposal efforts.
Qualifications:
- B.S. in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (M.S. preferred).
- California PE license required; GE license preferred.
- 8-15+ years of geotechnical engineering experience.
- Strong background in soil mechanics, foundation design, slope stability, and ground improvement.
- Experience with geotechnical software (e.g., PLAXIS, SLOPE/W, LPILE, gINT).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with California geologic and regulatory environments is a plus.
