HVAC Estimator
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed HVAC cost estimates.
- Perform quantity take-offs for ductwork, piping, equipment, and insulation.
- Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes for materials and services.
- Develop and maintain cost databases, historical pricing, and unit cost data.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify scope and ensure alignment.
- Participate in bid reviews, value engineering, and proposal preparation.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and potential project risks.
- Assist in post-bid reviews and handoff to project execution teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of experience in HVAC estimating or mechanical construction.
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Trimble Accubid, FastDUCT, QuoteSoft, Bluebeam).
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, materials, and installation methods.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with design-build or GMP estimating.
- Familiarity with BIM/VDC tools and workflows.
- Knowledge of local building codes and industry standards.
- LEED accreditation or other relevant certifications.
