They are seeking an experienced Structural Bridge Project Manager to join the Itasca, IL team and help lead complex structural and transportation design projects across the region.
Responsibilities
- Lead comprehensive design efforts for bridges, retaining structures, culverts, and other transportation‑related structural systems.
- Serve as Project Manager or Engineer of Record, ensuring all work meets established scope, schedule, and budget requirements.
- Mentor and support engineering staff in technical skills, project execution, communication, and career development.
- Conduct and oversee structural QA/QC reviews for calculations, plans, reports, and other engineering deliverables.
- Develop and review structural analyses, calculations, and engineering drawings for major components such as girders, decks, abutments, foundations, and retaining walls.
- Coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams-including roadway, traffic, drainage, utilities, geotechnical, environmental, and construction staff-to deliver cohesive project outcomes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; a structural emphasis or advanced degree is beneficial.
- A minimum of 8 years of increasing responsibility in bridge and transportation structure design.
- Active Illinois Structural Engineer (SE) license; PE licensure is advantageous.
- Experience working with IDOT/ISTHA design standards and producing agency‑required studies, reports, plan sets, and specifications.
- Proficiency with industry‑standard structural design tools such as OpenBridge/LEAP, MDX, LPILE, MIDAS, LARSA, LUSAS, spColumn, or similar platforms.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively while meeting project deadlines and budgets.
