Field Engineer - Mission-Critical Cooling Infrastructure

Summary
A growing engineering services firm is seeking a Field Engineer to support the installation, commissioning, and startup of advanced cooling systems within high-performance, mission-critical environments. This is a highly field-based, customer-facing role focused on ensuring system readiness, identifying risks, and supporting successful project execution across complex infrastructure deployments. Travel is extensive, and the role is best suited for individuals who enjoy hands-on work in dynamic environments.

Responsibilities

  • Support installation, commissioning, startup, and operational readiness of fluid-based cooling systems
  • Observe and monitor field activities to identify mechanical, operational, or procedural concerns
  • Document field conditions, issues, and progress through detailed reporting and tracking
  • Communicate observations, risks, and updates clearly with project stakeholders
  • Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and operations teams on active project sites
  • Ensure adherence to site procedures, safety standards, and commissioning protocols
  • Recognize escalation points and seek additional technical support when needed
  • Represent the organization professionally in customer-facing, high-visibility environments

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical) or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Background in mission-critical facilities, industrial water systems, HVAC, commissioning, or similar environments
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of fluid-based systems
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced construction or operational environments
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills
  • Comfortable working directly with clients, contractors, and technical teams
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively (up to ~75%)
