Mechanical Design Engineer
6 month contractor for mechanical design (skids, piping, etc). There is a potential for a contract extension or an offer for a full time role after contract expiration.
Location: Woburn, MA On-site
Responsibilities
The Mechanical Design Engineer will work with other engineers on the 3D design of membrane filtration equipment for both internal and customer projects. Specific responsibilities include:
* Design and draft 3D assemblies, pipe spools, and other components (SolidWorks)
* Develop piping and instrumentation (P&ID) files based on redlines and other diagrams from applications engineers or process engineers
* Provide input regarding design for cost-effective manufacturing
* Assist with hardware integration, procurement of instrumentation and components, and troubleshooting of control systems.
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates must hold at minimum a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering discipline. 3+ years of industry experience engaged in the design of membrane or other filtration industrial equipment is required. Additional qualifications include:
* Proficiency with 3D modeling utilizing Solidworks
* Working knowledge of piping and fluid systems, including 3D design of full-scale process equipment.
* Experience designing pneumatic parts or parts subject to high fluid pressures.
* Working knowledge of PLC-based control systems
* Ability to function autonomously on select projects.
* Communicate ideas clearly and concisely.
