Mid Level Hydrogeologist
Join a collaborative, multi‑disciplinary team working on diverse projects centered around groundwater systems. This role focuses on understanding and managing groundwater resources, including evaluating groundwater flow, water quality, aquifer behavior, and interactions between groundwater and surrounding environments. The ideal candidate is motivated to broaden their expertise and contribute to innovative solutions in the water resources field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct hydrogeological investigations to assess groundwater availability, quality, flow dynamics, and aquifer characteristics.
- Develop and utilize numerical models to simulate groundwater flow under both saturated and variably saturated conditions.
- Analyze and interpret field and analytical data to support regulatory compliance and project objectives.
- Collaborate with the water resources team on project development, design, testing, and implementation of technical solutions.
- Prepare technical proposals, reports, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
- Perform site visits for fieldwork, inspections, and project meetings, including domestic and international travel as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, or a closely related scientific or engineering field.
- Strong understanding of hydrogeologic principles, aquifer systems, and groundwater-surface water interactions.
- Working knowledge of geologic concepts such as structural geology, field mapping, drilling methods, and geophysical exploration.
- Demonstrated analytical skills, including numerical modeling experience.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, GIS platforms, and other relevant analytical or modeling software.
- Ability to work full‑time and travel to project sites as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree or higher in Geology, Hydrogeology, or a related discipline.
- Coursework or hands‑on experience with groundwater modeling programs such as MODFLOW or FEFLOW, with experience in the mining sector considered highly desirable.
- Prior industry experience involving hydrogeological work in mining, natural resources, or large‑scale groundwater projects.
- Familiarity with environmental permitting and regulatory requirements related to water management.
