The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary project teams, regulators, contractors, and clients to lead remediation-focused work streams, prepare and review engineering designs and technical deliverables, and support the execution of long-term remediation programs across soil, groundwater, sediment, and related environmental media.

What You'll Do

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and reviewing remedial design documents, including drawings, specifications, basis-of-design reports, and cost estimates
  • Evaluating investigation and performance data to inform remedy selection, design optimization, and adaptive management decisions
  • Coordinating with regulators and supporting permitting and agency review processes
  • Overseeing or supporting construction activities, including contractor coordination and construction quality assurance/quality control
  • Preparing technical memoranda, work plans, engineering reports, and project documentation
  • Managing project tasks, schedules, and budgets and contributing to overall project delivery
  • Providing technical direction and mentoring to junior staff
  • Participating in client meetings and effectively communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Supporting proposal development, scope development, and cost estimating efforts

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, civil engineering, chemical engineering, or a closely related field
  • Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in environmental investigation and remediation
  • Demonstrated experience supporting or leading remedial design and implementation projects
  • Experience managing tasks or discrete projects with limited supervision
  • Strong technical writing, data interpretation, and documentation skills
  • Familiarity with state and federal environmental regulations governing site remediation
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams while managing multiple priorities
  • Proficiency with common engineering and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Word, GIS, AutoCAD or similar platforms)

Preferred Experience

The following experience is a plus but not required:

  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or ability to obtain licensure
  • Experience managing construction contractors or subcontractors at remediation sites
  • Supporting feasibility studies, engineering evaluations, or alternatives analyses
  • Experience with soil, groundwater, sediment, or water treatment remedy design
  • Experience with environmental permitting related to remediation or construction activities
  • Prior experience in a client-facing environmental consulting role
