Onshore Wind EPC Project Manager
Our client is seeking a dynamic Project Manager to oversee onshore wind energy developments across Japan. In this role, you'll be responsible for delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. You'll coordinate internal teams and external partners-including local communities and financial stakeholders-to ensure seamless execution from planning through completion.
Key Responsibilities
🔹 Contract Oversight
- Interpret and manage complex contract structures and scopes.
- Provide strategic input on key agreements (e.g., TSAs, LTSAs, BoP).
- Collaborate with legal teams to resolve contractual issues and align stakeholder interests.
- Maintain accurate documentation and issue key project deliverables.
🔹 Schedule & Timeline Management
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules.
- Identify critical path activities and proactively address delays.
- Align stakeholders to keep projects on track.
🔹 Budget & Financial Control
- Conduct cost-benefit analyses aligned with project timelines.
- Define and monitor cash flow expectations and actuals.
- Collaborate with finance and legal teams to ensure financial compliance.
- Generate financial reports and evaluate project economics.
🔹 Risk & Opportunity Management
- Identify and mitigate project risks.
- Track and pursue opportunities with clear success criteria.
🔹 Technical Coordination
- Lead technical meetings and ensure construction compliance.
- Support technical due diligence and documentation for lenders.
- Assist with procurement and regulatory documentation.
🔹 Stakeholder Engagement
- Establish communication protocols with contractors and clients.
- Lead regular site and project team meetings.
- Provide executive-level reporting and resolve conflicts as needed.
🔹 Quality Assurance
- Define and uphold quality standards in collaboration with QA teams.
🔹 Additional Duties
- Ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality project delivery.
- Initiate commercial task requests and manage confidentiality agreements.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
- At least 4 years of experience in renewable energy project management (wind preferred).
- Project Management certification (PMP or IPMA Level C+ preferred).
- Strong understanding of wind energy and EPC project execution.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in both English and Japanese.
