Core Project Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of planning and coordination for the controls portion of assigned projects
  • Develop system drawings, control panel documentation, wiring details, and bills of materials
  • Program PLCs for Siemens S7‑1200 and Allen Bradley ControlLogix architectures
  • Organize day‑to‑day engineering tasks and track progress against project budgets
  • Update design packages as requirements evolve and communicate impacts to the project team
  • Prepare project documentation, including schedules, design updates, and technical notes
  • Review how control system changes affect mechanical, electrical, and process engineering work and notify those teams when adjustments are needed

Technical Responsibilities

  • Participate in technical reviews and lead discussions on controls architecture
  • Collaborate with contractors, integrators, and specialty vendors during design and installation
  • Provide technical recommendations, equipment evaluations, and support procurement activities
  • Apply working knowledge of manufacturing control concepts, including MRP systems
  • Support fabrication, installation, commissioning, and system integration in the field
  • Develop control narratives for water process equipment and treatment systems
  • Write and execute system test plans
  • Maintain and improve control systems across new and existing facilities
  • Diagnose issues in operating systems and apply structured troubleshooting techniques
  • Interpret and apply major industry standards and codes, including OSHA, MSHA, UL, NFPA, NEC, IEC, CSA, CE, AT EX, ANSI, API, and requirements for Class I Division 1 and 2 environments
  • Ensure designs comply with technical, health, and safety requirements across different regions
  • Stay current on industry trends, standards changes, and their implications for new project work
