Project Architect

A multidisciplinary architecture and engineering firm is seeking a licensed Project Architect with 4-8 years of professional experience to join our growing team. This role is ideal for an architect who is deeply engaged in the building design process, enjoys collaborating with engineers and consultants, and is committed to delivering high-quality documents that meet client needs.

The successful candidate will be highly organized, communicative, and experienced in coordinating multi-disciplinary teams, producing permit and construction documents, and providing construction phase services.

Our firm is a full-service architecture and engineering practice with offices in the Pacific Northwest and Southwest. We provide integrated civil, structural, and architectural services and frequently serve as the prime design consultant for commercial and light-industrial projects. Our portfolio includes warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, and other industrial facilities totaling millions of square feet nationwide.

Responsibilities

As a Project Architect, you will:

  • Prepare effective building designs and presentation materials
  • Coordinate with internal engineers and external consultants across multiple disciplines
  • Develop permit, construction, and technical documentation
  • Perform space planning, code analysis, and building envelope reviews
  • Produce drawings, details, and 3D visualizations as required
  • Provide construction phase administration services
  • Participate in client meetings and project coordination
  • Take on increasing responsibility and leadership opportunities as skills and experience grow

Required Qualifications

  • Professional degree in Architecture
  • Active architectural licensure in Oregon
  • Minimum 4-8 years of relevant professional experience
  • Experience preparing construction documents and supporting construction administration
  • Proficiency in Revit; working knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Solid understanding of applicable building codes (IBC, IECC/ASHRAE, NFPA, etc.)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication, organization, and coordination skills
  • Must reside in or near the Portland, Oregon area

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree from a NAAB-accredited program
  • Experience with industrial or commercial building design
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling and rendering software (SketchUp, 3ds Max, Illustrator, etc.)
  • Collaborative, positive, and client-focused approach
