Owner's Representative - Mission Critical / Hyperscale Data Center
Location: Amarillo, TX | Full‑Time | On‑Site
We are partnering with a leading national consulting and development services firm to identify an experienced Owner's Representative for a major AI hyperscale data center project in Amarillo, Texas. This role offers the opportunity to drive delivery of one of the most strategically significant technical infrastructure projects currently underway in the region.
The ideal candidate has strong experience overseeing complex, large‑scale ground‑up construction within mission‑critical or technically intensive environments, and can operate as the owner's trusted advisor throughout the full construction lifecycle.
Role Overview
As the Owner's Representative, you will provide end‑to‑end oversight of construction activities, ensuring the project is executed in alignment with the owner's objectives for schedule, cost, quality, and technical performance. You will coordinate closely with the general contractor, architect/engineers, and specialist consultants to manage project delivery from early construction through commissioning.
This role is highly visible, fast‑paced, and impactful-supporting a flagship facility for next‑generation AI compute.
Key Responsibilities
Project Oversight & Delivery Management
- Lead day‑to‑day representation of the owner on a large‑scale, ground‑up hyperscale data center project.
- Ensure project delivery adheres to defined scope, technical requirements, and performance standards.
- Drive alignment between design, construction, client objectives, and evolving project priorities.
Stakeholder & Team Coordination
- Manage the general contractor and design team to meet contractual obligations, maintain quality standards, and follow established workflows.
- Facilitate coordination among all project stakeholders-including consultants, trades, commissioning teams, and client representatives.
Contract Administration
- Oversee administration of general contractor and design contracts, including review of deliverables, progress tracking, compliance, and contractual reporting.
- Support procurement, onboarding, and oversight of additional vendors or specialist advisors as needed.
Budget & Schedule Control
- Monitor the master project schedule, identify risks early, and drive effective mitigation strategies to maintain delivery milestones.
- Track project budgets, cash flows, and expenditure forecasts.
- Evaluate and negotiate change requests, ensuring cost and schedule impacts are clearly understood and justified.
Technical Construction Management
- Provide oversight across all major construction disciplines-including civil, structural, architectural, electrical, mechanical, and critical systems-without requiring deep specialization in any one area.
- Coordinate with design and construction teams to ensure the facility meets performance, reliability, and scalability expectations typical of hyperscale data center environments.
- Support commissioning planning, readiness reviews, and turnover activities.
Site Presence & Reporting
- Lead and/or attend onsite progress meetings and design coordination sessions.
- Conduct regular site inspections to verify quality, progress, safety practices, and compliance with project requirements.
- Deliver concise and accurate weekly reports covering schedule, budget, risks, progress updates, and key decisions.
Required Qualifications
- 5-10+ years of experience managing ground‑up technical, mission‑critical, data center, or large industrial projects.
- Demonstrated ability to oversee general contractors and design teams from the owner/developer side.
- Strong understanding of large‑scale construction processes, scheduling, contract structures, and change management.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work onsite full‑time in Amarillo, TX.
