About the Role
An established and growing mechanical contracting firm in Massachusetts is seeking an experienced Mechanical (HVAC) Project Manager to lead commercial and institutional projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who excels at managing budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and client relationships while delivering high-quality HVAC systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage HVAC/mechanical projects from award through completion
- Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, and forecasts
- Coordinate with engineers, superintendents, subcontractors, and vendors
- Review drawings, specifications, and submittals for accuracy and constructability
- Oversee procurement of equipment and materials
- Lead project meetings and serve as the primary point of contact for clients
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, codes, and contractual requirements
- Track change orders, RFIs, and project documentation
- Support commissioning, closeout, and turnover processes
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience managing commercial HVAC/mechanical projects
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, piping, controls, and mechanical construction practices
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience with budgeting, cost control, and scheduling
- Proficiency with project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, or similar)
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
