What You'll Do
Lead Major Projects with Confidence
- Develop project plans outlining scope, milestones, schedules, and resource allocation
- Coordinate with clients, architects, engineering teams, and key stakeholders
- Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget
Drive Civil Engineering Excellence
- Oversee or perform civil engineering analysis, design, and technical reviews
- Ensure engineering solutions comply with safety standards, codes, and regulations
- Approve drawings, calculations, specifications, and technical deliverables
Inspire & Develop Your Team
- Mentor engineers, drafters, and project staff
- Delegate tasks clearly and effectively
- Foster an environment of collaboration, creativity, and innovation
Deliver Quality Every Time
- Implement robust quality control processes
- Conduct site inspections and technical audits
- Ensure all project deliverables meet rigorous engineering standards
Build Strong Client Relationships
- Act as the primary client contact throughout the project lifecycle
- Provide transparent updates on progress, budgets, and potential risks
- Identify opportunities for future collaboration and expanded services
Manage Risk & Solve Problems
- Identify project risks and develop effective mitigation strategies
- Resolve issues proactively and efficiently
- Maintain progress under pressure and adapt to changing project needs
Drive Financial Performance
- Monitor project budgets and ensure all work remains within scope
- Partner with accounting to maintain timely invoicing and AR collections
- Contribute to annual revenue, sales, and EBITDA goals
- Meet or exceed utilization targets for yourself and your team
Grow the Business (up to 20% of your time)
- Build relationships with new and existing clients
- Support proposal development including scopes, schedules, and fees
- Attend industry events and represent the firm professionally
What You Bring
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program
- 7-10+ years in civil/land development engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Proven experience leading engineering teams and managing complex projects
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations
- Exceptional problem‑solving, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple deadlines
Leadership & Influence
- Participate in leadership meetings
- Provide input for staff reviews and development
- Build strong client and partner relationships
- Represent the organization at industry and professional events
Role Details
- Direct Reports: Assigned engineers, design staff, and interns
- Travel: As needed for site visits, client meetings, or business development
