The Opportunity
A leading provider of integrated technology and low voltage solutions is seeking a Senior Foreman - Structured Cabling to lead field operations on complex infrastructure projects. This is an opportunity for an experienced professional to take ownership of on-site execution, supervise teams, and deliver high-quality structured cabling and technology installations.
Role Overview
In this senior-level field role, you will oversee daily job site activities, direct technicians and subcontractors, and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with design specifications. You will play a key role in planning work, coordinating with stakeholders, and maintaining strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
- Plan work activities, including materials, tools, and labor requirements
- Lead and direct technicians, apprentices, and subcontractors on-site
- Install, terminate, and test structured cabling systems (fiber, coaxial, CAT6/CAT6A)
- Perform fiber optic splicing and troubleshooting using industry-standard tools (OTDR, power meters, Fluke testers)
- Build and install telecommunications infrastructure including racks, patch panels, and cross-connects
- Diagnose and resolve cable faults such as shorts, opens, and crossed pairs
- Maintain project documentation, as-built drawings, and test results
- Communicate with clients to address issues and ensure satisfaction
- Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and other trades to ensure project success
- Enforce safety standards and ensure compliance with OSHA and company policies
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience in structured cabling and low voltage systems installation
- Proven ability to lead teams in a construction or field environment
- Strong understanding of fiber optic systems, testing, and troubleshooting
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and project specs
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- BICSI Technician certification or equivalent industry credential
- Experience overseeing large or complex cabling projects
- Familiarity with multiple technology systems (networking, AV, security)
Work Environment
- Field-based role on active construction sites
- Requires climbing ladders, working at heights, and lifting up to 50 lbs
- Combination of hands-on technical work and team supervision
Travel
- Occasional out-of-town travel may be required
