We're seeking an experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to lead and manage complex geotechnical aspects of infrastructure projects. This is a high-impact role for a technically strong professional who thrives in both design and construction environments and is ready to take ownership of project delivery, client engagement, and technical leadership.
You'll work across disciplines on transportation, environmental, and structural projects-providing geotechnical analyses, foundation recommendations, and construction-phase support. This position offers the opportunity to shape project outcomes, mentor junior staff, and contribute to strategic growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and deliver geotechnical services on time and within budget
- Lead subsurface exploration programs and field investigations
- Prepare design calculations, technical reports, and construction documents
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure design accuracy
- Provide geotechnical recommendations during construction and design/build efforts
- Support proposal development, scoping, and client presentations
- Serve as a technical resource and mentor within the team
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 10 years of geotechnical design experience
- PE license required (Virginia preferred)
- Experience with static/dynamic load testing, slope stabilization, and foundation construction
- Strong communication skills and ability to lead client-facing work
- Design-build experience preferred
