Senior Key Account Manager

Strategic Accounts Manager - Industrial Water & Process Solutions

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead the development and long-term management of strategic and corporate accounts, including national and global OEMs and major players in the water treatment industry. This role is centered on building high-impact relationships that drive sustainable revenue growth and expand product adoption across international markets.

Rather than focusing on transactional sales, this position emphasizes cultivating executive-level and technical partnerships. The Strategic Accounts Manager will work closely with regional sales leaders, product managers, and engineering teams to align strategies and execute account-specific initiatives across multiple geographies and sales channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and nurture long-term partnerships with key corporate and strategic accounts across North America and globally.
  • Act as the primary liaison for corporate-level engagements with OEMs, multinational water treatment firms, and other high-potential partners.
  • Develop and implement strategic account plans with defined objectives, milestones, and tailored value propositions.
  • Coordinate with regional sales teams and global distribution partners to ensure consistent execution of strategic initiatives.
  • Lead joint business reviews and planning sessions with key accounts to assess performance, uncover new opportunities, and drive mutual growth.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams-sales, marketing, engineering, product management, and executive leadership-to meet customer needs and influence product direction.
  • Support the negotiation and implementation of long-term agreements, including pricing, technical support, and supply planning.
  • Stay informed on global trends in water treatment, industrial automation, and fluid handling to better serve strategic partners.
  • Represent the company at international trade shows, customer meetings, and strategic planning events.
  • Travel up to 25%, including occasional international trips.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in strategic account management, business development, or OEM/global customer engagement within the industrial, water treatment, or process equipment sectors.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or Business, with demonstrated technical and commercial acumen; background in water treatment or instrumentation/control systems is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to manage complex relationships involving multiple stakeholders within large or multinational organizations.
  • Experience negotiating and executing strategic agreements and multi-site contracts.
  • Strong understanding of global industrial markets, water treatment technologies, and OEM business models.
  • Comfortable working across time zones and cultures in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Core Competencies

  • Executive presence and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust at all organizational levels.
  • Strategic mindset with strong analytical capabilities focused on long-term value creation.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with experience presenting to senior leadership.
  • Strong project and relationship management abilities.
  • Skilled at translating customer feedback into actionable insights for internal teams.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently with a high level of accountability.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM platforms (Salesforce preferred).
