Overview
A rapidly growing energy technology organization is seeking a Senior Manager, Powered Land to help build and scale a first-of-its-kind platform focused on one of the fastest-growing asset classes in infrastructure development.
As unprecedented demand for data centers continues to reshape the energy landscape, access to power has become one of the industry's most critical constraints. This role will serve as the internal subject matter expert on powered land, helping identify, evaluate, and commercialize sites capable of supporting large-scale data center and digital infrastructure deployment.
This is a unique opportunity to join an entrepreneurial team at the intersection of power, land, infrastructure, and technology, while helping shape a new business line from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the organization's expert on powered land acquisition, valuation, diligence, and transaction strategy.
- Develop frameworks and methodologies for evaluating and scoring powered land opportunities.
- Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Commercial, and Strategy teams to support development of market-facing solutions.
- Build and maintain relationships with landowners, developers, brokers, utilities, transmission providers, data center operators, hyperscalers, and infrastructure investors.
- Evaluate technical, commercial, and regulatory factors impacting site viability and development timelines.
- Support transaction structuring, pricing strategy, and commercialization efforts.
- Identify opportunities to enhance powered land value through integration with energy infrastructure solutions.
- Monitor market trends, power availability constraints, utility developments, and emerging opportunities across the digital infrastructure sector.
- Represent the organization at industry conferences, customer meetings, and strategic partner engagements.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in powered land, data center site selection, site acquisition, land origination, digital infrastructure development, or related fields.
- Understanding of key components of the data center development lifecycle, including site control, utility coordination, interconnection processes, entitlements, infrastructure requirements, and development risk assessment.
- Familiarity with utility service agreements, transmission considerations, power availability, and electricity markets.
- Experience evaluating and conducting diligence on development sites.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to assess opportunities, structure transactions, and identify market value drivers.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Preferred Experience
- Data center developer, hyperscaler, colocation provider, powered land platform, infrastructure investor, or utility background.
- Experience with power procurement, renewable energy development, energy markets, or infrastructure transactions.
- Existing network within the data center, utility, hyperscale, digital infrastructure, or investment communities.
- Experience supporting marketplace, brokerage, or platform-based businesses.
