Senior Mechanical Estimator (Newark, DE Based)

My client is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Mechanical Estimator to join our team in Newark, DE. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in HVAC and Plumbing systems and a strong command of Trimble estimating software. This role is critical in supporting our pre-construction efforts by delivering accurate and competitive estimates for commercial and industrial mechanical projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for HVAC and plumbing systems for commercial and industrial projects.
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
• Utilize Trimble software for takeoffs, estimating, and project planning.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure accurate scope and pricing.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options.
• Maintain and update historical cost data and unit pricing.
• Participate in bid reviews and presentations with senior leadership.
• Stay current with industry trends, codes, and best practices.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of mechanical estimating experience, with a focus on HVAC and Plumbing.
• Proficiency in Trimble estimating software is required.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, construction methods, and materials.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical documents.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
