A leading U.S. general contractor with an outstanding reputation in the data center market is seeking an experienced Senior MEP Superintendent to support major data center construction projects in North Carolina. This organisation is nationally recognised for delivering complex, large-scale, mission‑critical facilities and offers long-term career stability on landmark projects.
The Role
As Senior MEP Superintendent, you will be responsible for the on-site leadership, coordination, and execution of all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) scopes on large hyperscale and colocation data center projects. You will play a critical role in ensuring schedule certainty, quality, and safety across projects valued in excess of $150M.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all on-site MEP construction activities from mobilization through commissioning and turnover
- Coordinate mechanical and electrical trades, vendors, and commissioning agents
- Manage sequencing and integration of MEP systems with the overall construction schedule
- Ensure strict adherence to safety, quality, and compliance standards
- Drive issue resolution related to constructability, commissioning, and system performance
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Owners, and Design Teams
- Support inspection processes, testing, commissioning, and final client handover
Required Experience & Qualifications
- 5+ years of direct data center construction experience (hyperscale or colocation)
- 10+ total years in MEP construction, including leadership roles on projects valued $150M+
- Proven expertise in mission-critical electrical and mechanical systems
- Strong knowledge of commissioning and turnover processes
- Ability to lead large subcontractor teams in fast‑paced environments
- Local or near-local to Raleigh, NC (or willing to be based there full-time)
