Position Overview

A leading structural engineering firm is seeking a seasoned and strategic Senior Project Manager to join its Dallas office. This role offers a unique opportunity for an experienced professional to take on a leadership position with influence over project execution, team development, and business growth. The selected candidate will play a key role in shaping the direction of the office, with input into hiring decisions, operational strategy, and client engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership

  • Lead and manage complex structural engineering and diagnostics projects across a diverse portfolio, including:
    • K-12 and higher education campuses
    • Civic and municipal facilities
    • Healthcare and institutional buildings
    • Commercial and mixed-use developments
    • Parking structures and adaptive reuse projects
  • Oversee project teams, ensuring technical excellence, budget control, and schedule adherence.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, fostering long-term relationships and ensuring satisfaction.

Office & Team Influence

  • Collaborate with office leadership to shape team structure, hiring decisions, and internal culture.
  • Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and performance management to build and retain top talent.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and operational improvements to support office growth and efficiency.

Business Development

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the Dallas-Fort Worth region.
  • Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and client meetings to enhance visibility and market presence.
  • Lead proposal development, fee strategies, and contract negotiations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required; Structural Engineer (SE) license preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on diagnostics, forensics, or rehabilitation.
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex projects and leading multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and business development skills.
