Position Overview
Our client is seeking a Senior Project Manager - Civil Engineering to join its growing team in Chicago, IL. This individual will play a leadership role in overseeing the design, permitting, and delivery of land development projects while helping to drive client relationships, business development initiatives, and office growth.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, permitting, and execution of a variety of land development projects for public and private sector clients.
- Manage projects including commercial, mixed-use, industrial, institutional, residential, and distribution developments.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients while maintaining and expanding existing relationships.
- Support business development initiatives through networking, relationship-building, and identifying new project opportunities.
- Collaborate with office leadership on strategic growth initiatives, project forecasting, and resource planning.
- Oversee site design efforts including grading, drainage, utilities, stormwater management, and erosion control from concept through construction.
- Provide technical leadership for hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, stormwater management design, and regulatory compliance efforts.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers, project managers, and technical staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- 10+ years of civil engineering experience focused on land development and site design projects.
- Strong understanding of local and state permitting requirements and development processes.
- Proven experience managing land development projects from planning and entitlement through final design and construction.
- Demonstrated success developing client relationships and generating new business opportunities.
- Strong technical knowledge of grading, drainage, utility infrastructure, erosion control, and stormwater management.
- Experience preparing technical reports, proposals, and project documentation.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred.
- Leadership experience with a track record of mentoring and managing engineering teams.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Active involvement in professional organizations is a plus.
- Valid driver's license and ability to attend client meetings and site visits as needed.
