Senior Water Resources Engineer
- Conduct hydrologic/hydraulic studies and drainage design for transportation projects
- Develop stormwater management and erosion/sediment control designs
- Perform watershed analysis and modeling for river mechanics and floodplain studies
- Prepare and modify drainage designs on CADD drawings and construction plan documents
- Ensure water quality and quantity designs meet VA DEQ regulations
- Design storm sewer systems and profiles
- Develop erosion and sediment control designs
- Analyze bridge/culvert hydraulics and design, including scour analysis
- Utilize GIS mapping, H&H modeling software, and prepare technical reports and construction cost estimates
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- 11-15 years of relevant experience
- Licensed as a Registered Professional Engineer in Virginia or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Experience with VDOT Hydraulics, Erosion Sediment Control design, and hydrologic/hydraulic stream analysis
- Strong skills in stormwater management design, permit drawings, and FEMA FIS Flood Study CLOMR/LOMR
- Proficiency in Hydraulic Engineering Circulars (HECs) for scour, stream and bank stability, and roadway stability
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Experience in a lead role or goal to work towards this role
